#BestBooks2025 I started this year's reading with Katie Tallo, a new author for me. Her novel, The Buried Road, is the second in the series featuring Gus and her daughter, Bly (1/2)

Alberta’s emissions performance credits, which can be used to comply with the industrial carbon pricing system, are now trading at just C$17 per tonne.

The frozen $95 per tonne headline price is largely irrelevant.

We need to pay more attention to scientists when they are trying to warn us about the consequences of our actions. Decades ago, David Suzuki said that if the world does not take steps to address climate change, we should anticipate mass migration of people heading northward to escape extreme temps.
IMPORTANT: NASA map shows temperatures of up to 160 degrees on Phoenix streets & sidewalks. All that unrelenting concrete and asphalt for cars. Not nearly enough trees. They start with ridiculous heat that’s only getting worse with the #ClimateCrisis, and then make it much worse with bad design.

So thrilled to see ALTER EGO out in paperback today!

Eternally proud of this standalone sequel to SECRET IDENTITY, which was an immediate USA TODAY-bestseller, Anthony Award-nominee, and got rave reviews from all over.

Any political “leader” still selling the obviously false choice between #ClimateAction and “the economy” is just reminding us that they clearly don’t understand either the climate crisis OR the economy.

Or they’re cynically hope that WE don’t understand the difference.

Or both.

FFS! It feels like everything tied to the Trump administration is twisted and backwards these days. Imagine criticizing anyone for reminding service members that they need to follow the law.
MS NOW confirms: The FBI is working with Capitol Police to schedule interviews with the six Democratic lawmakers who urged service members to refuse to comply with illegal orders.

After ousting the BLS director and scrapping the October jobs and inflation reports, Trump is now canceling release of the advance Q3 GDP estimate.

Trump doesn't mind turning the lights off on the economy because he’d rather Americans not know how badly it’s doing under him.

I used to do a lot of cross-border shopping when I lived in BC. In the last couple of decades, I would visit the States a couple of times a year for work & vacations. Even though I enjoy my time there, and have family & friends living there, I will not return while the present gov't is in power.
