685,000 NYPD stops on the predicate of collecting guns. Only 2% produced weapons. 85% of stops involved Black & Latino men. 3 terms with Bloomberg. Now these same wealthy New Yorkers insist that young & working class voters defer to the alleged “superior” judgment of the millionaires & billionaires.
The hundreds of thousands of Black & Latino men who were subjected to stop-and-frisk did not have the option to “leave NYC.” They endured the reign of Bloomberg - the beloved choice of elite New Yorkers - who even supported changing the law to give Bloomberg a 3rd term.

i did my americorps service at a place called bridging, where people got to shop for free for home goods when they had little to nothing.

abuse survivors, fire victims, people getting their first secure housing

it gets tiring to keep explaining what it means to be poor to people.

it is not that poor people don’t know that cooking is cheaper:

cooking costs time. it costs pots and pans. it costs a working stove and your utilities on. it costs you’ve been on your feet all day and your babies are tired.

Also people tend to assume a level of family support that poor people are less likely to have hence their struggles to say afloat
