For new and prospective followers. Current work at #DiscoveryPoint #Dundee featuring new commissioned work and previously exhibited textile panels.
I have an Etsy shop (which I'm not good at promoting!) and planning a rejig so some of the current listing will probably disappear so if there is anything you like the look of (and, sigh, you don't live in Europe, Northern Ireland or the US) snap them up while you can!

I recently found out I was married in a church that has featured in Highlander apparently 🤷🏻‍♀️
I don’t abandon things very often but this fabric is horrible to sew so I’m leaving this walrus as it is.
A walrus based on a 1579 illustration. Hand Embroidery in black thread on two tone satin. I was going to add more detail but I hate sewing that fabric and life is too short.

There needs to be more coverage of this in the news. I have read so many stories bout this on Facebook, first hand stories of the terror of that storm, and very little coverage n media.

Screenshot of a Facebook post. Photo is an elderly woman holding a child on her ap on a couch with flood water around them. Both are wearing jackets inside. Text says: This was after our 1st drift.. staying put for awhile. Our 3rd and final drift was terrifying. House moving fast then we started spinning in circles. While we were spinning in circles my oldest daughter was just staring at me while I held onto my younger two. Kipnuk doesn't look like kipnuk anymore, like more than 3/4 of the homes displaced, power poles fallen. It smells like stove oil outside. Contaminated
Doing some more work on this A3 textile piece today. Sorting the top right corner with the blue #TransferDye background. Padded #SatinStitch and #FrenchKnots then remembered these lovely clear coloured beads secured with Y stitches also used elsewhere in the piece. #HandEmbroidery

It was such magical and productive month!
Current long running #WorkInProgress #HabdEmbroidery based on a #TransferDye background. I’m gradually building up the structure and composition as I go. Enjoying the process very much (at the moment anyway!)
On white twill polycotton with blue/ green transfer dye a selection of yo-yos, organza sewn appliqués, hand embroidery and beading in greens, yellows, oranges and browns.
Tbh it isn’t making me happy either as it means I’ll not be able to go back!
We bought our house with a horseshoe on the back gate. When we replaced the gate the horseshoe was carefully removed, kept upright carefully refitted on the new gate because why risk it.

What would it be like if cats and whales changed places? My partner sent me these pictures from a Russian children’s book and I can’t stop thinking about the little whale drinking from a saucer. 🐋
Illustration of a giant cat in the ocean with birds landing on it. Below, a tiny indoor house whale laps from a saucer A tiny whale curled up on a bed. Above, tiny whale is silhouetted climbing in a fence at night Giant sea cat amidst some ships with Russian text. Above, a small wall pounces at some mice, landing on its flippers
Most of my exhibition/collaboration opportunities have come directly or indirectly through social media including a research residence at this lighthouse on Shetland
