A HAZARD is a swimming pool of sharks.
A RISK is choosing to swim in that pool.
Disasters are NOT natural.

Bothell Councilmember Curd understands that we can fiercely care for our natural environment AND fiercely care for people through housing. We too believe both people and planet are important. Thank you Councilmember Curd for your vision, service, and belief in our campaign!

Bothell neighbors have skills. Clean out your garages!! I want to see bike tuning, yarn spinning, cat cleaning, art sharing, kombucha brewing, tax preparing, floral arranging, tamale supplying, trophy engraving… or whatever your specialty is!
The Bothell City Council just voted 5-1 to drop all minimum off-street parking requirements at the same time that they approved the legalization of neighborhood cafes and corner stores everywhere in the city.

Shouldn't the orca appeal people know astroturfing sheds tire wear particles which affect salmon?
In two filings this month, appellants trying to slow down adoption of Seattle's 20-year growth plan took their plea to King County Superior Court. Both requests were speedily dismissed, likely keeping the appeal door closed until after the plan is adopted.

Councilmembers from Seattle are welcome to come out to Bothell, stand at the edge of the urban growth boundary and see what their policies are doing on the other side of the line. It's connected.
Moore says: "it is disingenuous [to say] if we don't build density, then we're going to sprawl. We are constrained by the Growth Management Act. If we don't have density in Seattle, we're not going to sprawl out because we're constrained by state law. So, that's a red herring, frankly."

Know what kills orcas? Sprawl and cars. Not dense housing in walkable neighborhoods

Removing parking mandates doesn’t mean parking doesn’t still get built! It just means cool new places aren’t banned because they need to get creative with their footprint.
Washington's coolest cities support parking reform, pass it on.

Downtown Bothell Fire Station 42 is open for folks to charge devices today until 7PM (priority for medical devices). I'm grateful for neighbors checking in on each other and helping out during the extended power outage.

Feeling so inspired seeing red Kokanee spawning in a creek near Lake Sammamish today! 🤩

Grew up with a backyard creek; I never saw or thought about local spawning until I started working in salmon recovery a few years ago, overcome by awe & emotion about their persistence. It's a transformational experience everyone should see!!
Sorry, not sorry, I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest for decades of my life yet never saw salmon spawn until a few years ago — so it is a wonder to me.
