Extreme wealth concentration hurts everyone. We can make different choices for better outcomes. Seattle did it. We can, too.

There are all sorts of problems with this. Boycott Starbucks.
Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

Now, Starbucks is lifting a cap on the CEO's use of a private jet to commute from California to Seattle.

It's been four years since Starbucks stores began unionizing and workers still don't have a contract.

Yes! We should do this! All of this.
One of my favorite things that I learned this past year was about the importance of Salmon to nutrient cycles in the PNW

Which, having grown up using “fish food” fertilized, should not have come as a surprise.

All that to say: restore salmon habitat, it’s good for our forests (and yes, #landback)
The Stillaguamish Tribe has been buying back ceded lands for floodplain restoration, benefiting salmon and nearby farmers.

“It is a bit of a bitter pill to swallow to buy back the land that we essentially traded for the resource, the fish, but it's what we have to do to get things back on track."

There are good people out there doing good work. I keep finding them (or they keep finding me?) and it gives me so much hope, every single time.

Do… do you ever think that men might be too emotional to effectively govern?
LMAO Tim Eyman just got tossed from the room by security after the Millionaires Tax passed and he stood up and started ranting at the committee.

What a clown 🤡

No notes.
As corporations shell out big bucks for Super Bowl commercials, remember that many have said they were forced to raise prices due to inflation.

Also remember that profit margins in nearly every sector in the S&P 500 are running near or above 10-year highs.

Hello???

Is there some kind of sports game today?
While many of you are likely yelling "GO PATRIOTS" or "GO SEAHAWKS!" I'm yelling "GO ROBERT MUELLER and the rule of law!"

Let the scales drop.
I hope Dems begin to see that moderate or progressive, AIPAC is not our friend.

They endorse January 6th insurrectionists. Yet if you so much as suggest the US uphold its own Leahy laws, no matter your record, they will work against you.

Today I was told that Washington State's budget woes are the result of Jeff Bezos moving to Florida. Big if true.
Jeff Bezos’s wealth has increased an average of $70 million every day of 2026, meaning that he could have offset The Post’s losses with what he’s made since Monday.

Yes.
We gotta come up with a better system than “everything rests on whether these twelve billionnaires are nice”

Thank you Rep. Thomas. ❤️
Today the WA House's housing committee rejected an amendment to a bill reducing barriers to emergency shelter and supportive housing that would have allowed cities to keep banning those facilities w/in 1,000 feet of a school or daycare center.

Rep. Brianna Thomas (D-West Seattle) had some thoughts.

Kenmore Planning Commission is discussing neighborhood commercial this year. I am excited about the vibrancy and walkability awaiting the future of our neighborhoods with the (re)legalization of this land use.

And look, @typewriteralley.bsky.social made it into our agenda packet!

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

Me, neither. Seems like a losing prospect.
I…don’t want to reform…the campaign of terror…
Now I am willing to give the White House and Republicans two weeks to work with Democrats to reform ICE and the campaign of terror we’ve witnessed in Chicago, Minneapolis, and across the country. After two weeks, I make no promises. (2/2)

Yes to Medicare For All.
Americans know our health care system is broken.

A recent poll found that 70% of Vermonters support a Medicare for All single-payer system.

Congress must understand that health care is a human right — not a privilege.

We must pass Medicare for All.
New poll on healthcare: Vermonters want to extend ACA subsidies
Most Vermont residents support extending the recently expired Obamacare subsidies, which were at the center of the government shutdown fight.
