Democrats (the DNC) needs to run strong candidates in ALL of these open seats
PUNCHBOWL: “.. GOP members messaged us over the weekend saying that they, too, are considering retiring in the middle of the term. Here’s one particularly exercised senior House Republican:

This. I think there’s fewer 3rd places across Seattle now than there was in 1990, and our population is 60% higher. This is a land use, zoning, permits, and housing problem
4:30pm on a Sunday and it's hard to find an open seat at the US Bank Center's Cedar Hall common space. The latent demand for third places in downtown Seattle is so incredibly high.

Curious and sad that MLK Labor initially endorsed the anti-worker candidate Bruce Harrell
My staff likes to say we ran a union organizing campaign: focusing on widely and deeply felt issues, sticking to our message, building solidarity, and connecting with those most impacted to propose solutions. Well, turns out MLK Labor agrees.

I'm so excited for The Urbanist to roll into 2026 at full strength, covering new admins at the city and county and major stories elsewhere, including at Sound Transit.

I hope you'll consider joining us at our holiday party to support that work. It's also fun!

Have the Democratic Party, the Center for American Progress, and the architects of Project 2029 disavowed Larry Summers?

He's advising all of them and is a major liberal power player.

He was also used by the Dem establishment to attack Mamdani.

If they have, great; if not, why not?

Katie Wilson has a personal understanding of the rising costs that are burdening working people in Seattle. What's more, her extensive experience fighting for change at City Hall means she has clear plans to fix this.

That's why editorial boards owned by wealthy conservatives are so afraid of her.

What’s depressing is that with the comp plan not coming up for a big change for 8 years we would need to elect @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social to three terms or really impact this and it wouldn’t take effect for about 18 more years. Bruce Harrell failed a whole generation of Seattleites.
it's insane that seattle's zoning policy is effectively just 'rezone the areas renters already live ever other decade'

so instead of inducing walkable areas, we induce urban cannibalism and massive buildings that consume almost entire lot w/ little privacy
