So many good reads! I have a story that was published recently that is horror-ish. I’m very very proud of it. It didn’t get much love when it came out, so thanks for creating this thread :) bmr.unm.edu/spitfire/

I may or may not have a short story featuring this setting coming out this year from a dream pub 🤭 Centralia is sick as hell
Hi perhaps you would like a little break from the news in the form of an essay about my trip to Centralia, Pennsylvania, the town that’s been on fire since 1962—a place where surprisingly I found a great deal of hope, wonder, and mystery.

I’m reading THE SENTENCE by Louise Erdrich, a book club pick that I (of course) had no idea would be so pertinent several weeks after it was selected. Very upsetting how circular time is. “Minnesota goddamn” ❤️‍🩹

I found out yesterday that I was awarded a 2026 artist grant from the Somerville Arts Council! I will use the funding to work on my short story collection, but I also plan on creating a community project. If anyone is in the #Boston area, what type of writing activity would you be interested in?

…however, I’m very proud of what did get accepted and I do have some exciting publishing news already for 2026. Here’s to sticking with the art, even when it feels like nobody will ever care about it. I’m so thankful for everyone who’s ever engaged with my work—in small and big ways. ❤️

Tysm to the editors and readers of these pieces. This year post-MFA has felt like a slog when it comes to publishing. I didn’t submit at all during my MFA. I just focused on writing. I’m so grateful I had that time, but coming back into the world of rejections was, whew, tough to say the least…
