Ive decided that Im going to retire from audio novels after this contract. Long form voice acting projects like that have been tanking my mental health and with how busy my life is becoming I just cant afford to sink so much time into something for so little returns.

“But in ARC Raiders the GenAi voices were officially sanctioned by the actors! And so did Fortnite!” - and their agreement to this undermines everything the rest of us Voice Actors, our union, and other industries have been fighting against.

Heads up for folx playing Arc Raiders: Embark has openly stated (in an interview with GamesRadar+), that the game uses the same AI voice tech as The Finals, and the CEO has talked about using AI to generate 3D models from YouTube rips.
If you're anti-AI you should not be playing Arc Raiders!

Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.
They try to downplay this on the Steam store page by describing the AI usage as vaguely as possible.
