I always worried that I didn't deserve to feel bad because other people have it worse, so by seeking any help I was detracting from other people who *actually* needed help, I was just whining, everyone feels this way, etc. Finally got over that hump and oh! Crippling anxiety disorder!

Feel like “last loko party” is a very specific millennial micor-generational memory. One of my friends was in a fraternity where they climbed onto the roof and started grabbing bits of roof tile and throwing them into the street at one of these events.
One of my dirtbag roommates worked for an alcohol lobby group, and when Four Loko got banned, they redirected an entire pallet to our driveway. The resulting party got us evicted. Devil juice, terrible stuff.
My freshman year of college was the last of the Loko years and they sent us all an email saying effectively “Do NOT drink this, it is TOO crazy, it will make your parties TOO wild.” which had about exact the effect you would expect.

My intellect makes me the superior species, I tell him to his cute-as-a-button face, vaguely remembering that my species is also responsible for inventing the concept of "paying bills"

Reminding my cat that, though he evolved over millions of years to be a perfect predator, my kind swiftly bred that out of him to instead be a soft creature I get to pet and give belly rubs to

Almost every day the fascist stories are accompanied with stories about record anxiety and stress and uncertainty and loneliness and hardly anyone wants to connect the obvious dots.

Fascism is a collective breakdown. People are struggling and there has to be relief.

Capitalism is a failed experiment
Income inequality is higher in the US today than it was in 1774, even if you factor in slavery.

It's shocking that creators can set an arbitrary goal, meet it, and never deliver with no recourse for the people who backed them.

Actually looking at kickstarter makes it clear that more than half the stuff I've backed in the last decade never came to fruition, despite meeting funding goals, and was just...forgotten about. I feel scammed.
