How many Trump supporters does it take to change a light bulb?
None.
Trump said he fixed it and they all stand in the dark clapping.

Which means they're in panic mode ...
The White House just sent a "Don't Panic" email. That'll do it

My concern is that Trump expects our silence, not that he merely wants it, that he expects fealty from Americans.
Being silent about Trump's lies, grifts, murders, rummaging through the United States Treasury and other crimes against humanity ... is complicity.

This is brilliant, and a timely reminder of why the humanities matter. An interview with historian @jmelendezbadillo.bsky.social, author of Puerto Rico: A National History, who advised Bad Bunny on his Super Bowl performance.
"I became a historian because I wanted to share the knowledge with people outside of academia. But never in my life did I think that Bad Bunny would help my scholarship reach such broad audiences, using the biggest platform in the world."

Not at all surprised to learn that Bad Bunny has a historical adviser. His halftime show was a reminder that our history and culture are deeply intertwined with the rest of the western hemisphere. We should think of his performance as part of #America250. #SuperBowl

Good morning. The President of the United States was in the middle of the most serious child sex trafficking ring of the last quarter century.

He is referenced not a dozen times in the case files. Not 100 times. Not 1,000 times. He’s referenced 38,000 times.

Absolutely! The only problem I see here is that Pam Bondi doesn't know the definition of the word "truth."

My home state of Delaware deserves MUCH better than this, Chris Coons.
I’m not sure why Coons is just laughing this off when it is currently the central organizing theme of the Republican Party. We need to address these racist lies aggressively with strong arguments, not just laugh and say “that’s not true.” bsky.app/profile/atru...

For the record, like many Americans I worked while I was in high school, I worked through college and adulthood, even beyond retirement age. If some employer would give me a second look, I'd like to continue working. Grateful to be in good health and able to work!
Ok when are you and your family and all of Washington DC politicians and their families going to sign up? I've been working full fucking time from the age 16 to age 47 when i had the stroke that retired me. I helped pay down enough. Look in the fucking sovereign wealth fund where the $$ is idiot.
Dr Oz defends his comments saying kids should work right out of high school & older Americans should put off retirement to help pay down natl debt: "If we make our people healthier, they'll want to participate in life. You shouldn't work longer bc you have to. You should work longer bc you want to."

1. It was not an accident.
2. It was not a staffer.
3. While the president may have dementia his racism is not due to dementia.
4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares.
5. His base agrees with him.
6. He will do it again.
7. No one in power will hold him accountable.

Sorry, no error here. Just more willful ugliness.
New on MS NOW:

According to a White House official: "A White House staffer erroneously made the post. It has been taken down."

Just hours ago, Karoline Leavitt defended the racist post. Now it's been taken down.

Trump at the National Prayer Breakfast: "We hit 'em. And we want to hit 'em right, sir, and we want to hit them from the top! East, west, north, south. Sir, they won't know what the hell! And we'll knock them out. We did it politically correct. Five years."

During Watergate days my college roommate and I had a WAPO subscription. Each morning we'd jump out of bed as soon as we heard the paper hit the door, eager to read the latest news. How fortunate we were to have a real newspaper!

I'm seeing more of a dumbed down media landscape than a "complicated" one, but that's just me.
Incredible. They destroyed a great newspaper because they hated the people who actually paid for it and read it so much that they'd rather scrap the paper if they couldn't get Tucker Carlson's audience bsky.app/profile/maxt...
Speaking to WaPo employees, editor Matt Murray says cuts are about “positioning ourselves to become more essential to people's lives, and what is becoming a more crowded, competitive and complicated media landscape, and after some years when, candidly, the Post has had struggles to do that."

“Your audience has halved in recent years. People are not reading your stuff.” Worth noting that going back to 2024, WAPO management, namely publisher Will Lewis, blames the writers for the paper's decline. A real cheap shot.
