Couldn’t bring myself to get up early again this morning after having done so for figure skating yday, but I listened to the 1st half & the commentary was not kind to Romero at all. What a mess.
One positive for me is that Souza put in a good effort, tho he obviously looks below the level for now.

It's a bumper issue this week, featuring a wrap-up of the winter transfer window with my grades for each senior team's January business. Feel free to share your own grades in the replies!

Rockets and Rallies
Both Spurs teams had to mount comebacks to avoid dropping points, and did so in style.

I've seen a lot of people watching the figure skating at the Olympics and a lot of praise for the French ice dancers with the cool Vogue programme. I thought it was important to add some (pretty unpleasant) context to their Olympic narrative.

We need to talk about Fournier-Beaudry and Cizeron.
This article mentions multiple sexual assault cases and links to articles with graphic descriptions of assault. Please take care when…

Great thread. I would also add Kazuki Tomono's SP!
Before the Olympics begins, I want to post some great figure skating from this season that you won't be seeing at the Olympics because:

a) the country/skater didn’t qualify
b) the skater doesn’t have citizenship for the country they compete for, or
c) the country just has too many good skaters

That Olympics opening ceremony was pretty underwhelming as a whole, but my three favorite moments were:
• dancing moka pots
• Donovan Carrillo flag bearer joy
• Nessun Dorma

In which we try to be optimistic about the Chelsea game at THS, but we've been hurt before.
🚀NEW POD🚀

#THWFC pulled off a comeback against West Ham thanks to two spectacular goals.

We chat:
• Slippery concession
• Tilly's goal drought ends
• Olivia PotM again
• Drew's 🟥

Plus: the final transfer moves, a listener question, and a Chelsea preview.

The way Tara and Johnny are gushing about the Georgian pairs team feels very icky to me.

Catching up on the team event rhythm dance. I forgot how fun Lim/Quan’s Men in Black program was!

It’s a good thing Kaori definitely hasn’t announced her retirement and is absolutely going to skate forever and there’s no way this is her last event #MilanoCortina2026

Very similar situation to Ange where it’s like cool dude, glad you got to vent your feelings, but you could also just… not.
Limiting replies lest I get the usual “journalists provoke him, what do you expect him to do?” replies. I expect him to use some common sense and discretion, mostly. Tall ask.
Sometimes the embargoed part makes things sound less bad than what comes out earlier in the day and uh this aint it

I think it makes sense to have Alysa do the SP since she is *so* consistent with that program after two seasons. I also think Amber’s FS is a little stronger, if less audience friendly.

I was just about to make a sassy post about Wemby’s poor alley-oop attempts tonight, and then he did that 😝

This is great, definitely check it out if you’re excited for Olympics figure skating! Gives you a good sense of the skaters’/teams’ personalities in addition to their actual FS strengths.
i wrote these skating primers on tumblr btw if anyone wants to read them. it's like all information that all my skating mutuals here already know, but you know. if you want kitschlet.tumblr.com/post/8068571...

Man, I feel like this is where you just have to accept fate and retire. But I guess that’s easy for me to say as a non-Olympian.
Lindsey Vonn says in press conference from Italy that she tore her ACL in a crash Friday — but aims to race in the Olympic downhill Sunday anyway. Said she skied today, and will wear a knee brace.

Question for my figure skating mutuals: have any of y'all found a good Apple calendar link with *just* the FS events? I've seen a bunch that have all the Olympic sports, and that is simply too much 😝 I can just add the events manually, but figured I'd ask if anyone had an easier solution.

Happy Black History Month.

German soccer is full of accomplished Black players, coaches, media figures, and fan figures that often go unnoticed.

We try to make sure these people don't get lost to history every month, but it's always good to really make sure in February.

Not quite Ovalle level of difficulty, but it’s going to be so funny when we become the first club to win a team Puskás award for collective goals over a season.
One of the greatest finishes you will EVER see. Simply jaw-dropping.

Says a lot about the state of things at the club that a lot of the players didn’t look all that happy about earning a draw against City. I’m sure the injury crisis must make it feel like they’re being stalked by the reaper.
