I first assumed they were mooncakes, given the time of year, but they don’t look like mooncakes.

I don't mind "Hi", as long as it's immediately follow by the thing you want. Immediately. Not after a short wait. That's the important bit. The "Hi, can you..." circumstance is then polite.

Just "Hi" gets no response. At all. Tell me what you want, and I'll respond.

For the past 6 months I've been anonymously mailing collage cards i made to a café/art space in Nebraska. They're in a town with 40 people. I don't know them and I've never been there. I put a code on the back of the cards. If you figure it out it's my email address. They finally emailed me today!
