Around 6 in 10 Americans say they are dissatisfied with the current state of democracy in the US.

The first thing the State Dept account did here was threaten to use Bluesky posts to strip people of visas and investigate non citizens.

That's a real threat against every Bluesky user and it's absurd the account isnt banned yet.

My biggest takeaway from Science Wars is that it feels like freedom to throw away all regard for what is true and accurate, and it feels like oppression to be told "this is the way reality is," but crucially it only FEELS that way. Liberation depends on our understanding that the opposite is true.

I guess we will learn soon enough if I was on the correct tract here or not but honestly: considering space itself (at least on a solar system level) has been turned open world a spacestation update would probably make a lot of sense for that "🚪" update.

i’ve been watching Sarah CM Paine lectures on Dwarkesh Patel’s YT channel lately and a concept she uses to explain WW2 came to mind, that of a “shared primary enemy“. i’m sure all these people have many disagreements but right now nothing matters more than the primary enemy of all of us.
