Ireland’s biggest independent bookstore - new, secondhand & bargain books - where you find what you didn’t know you were looking for!
A Post Bookshop of the Year!
Pinned
The last 3.5 yrs a small, stubborn team has been rebuilding an independent bookshop, powered by tea, spreadsheets & a slightly excessive love of books.

Because I knew absolutely nothing about these books & this TV series until people started asking me “when will they be in?” I went down the rabbit hole - it is slightly bonkers & absolutely brilliant!

You can keep reading - the rest of the series has arrived & is instore and online!!

I’m not the target market & the excitement seems to have come out of nowhere to me, but I am loving how enthusiastic readers are for these books!

Looking through some vintage books David sent to me - I feel I remember these, but I can’t think how 🤔

My favourite trick here is the word still. The day is dark, the heart is tired, and the sun is still shining. Optimism as persistence & practice.

This looks interesting! First published 1967 by Mercier Press containing “Containing 9 Invasions (Assorted), Several Rebellions (Mixed), Many Good Battles (Fierce), 11 Feasts (With Treachery) and Several Other Sporting Events”

I have spent ALL of 2026 to date with one bug or another, feeling miserable & tired 😢

So on what is supposed to be the most miserable day of the year I have decided, in my contrary way, to be determinedly upbeat!

One of the most perfect short stories ever written!

Look at the very last paragraph - it does something unusual (as pointed out to me by an incredible writer).
❄️ Nollaig na mBan faoi mhaise ❄️

It's the day for reading this wondrous story, preferably in the exquisite hardback edition from @newislandbooks.bsky.social
I've written a new intro to this volume.
