When i was a student nurse over 30 years ago, i took care of an indigenous teenage mom, just after delivery.

She was loving and attentive, asking questions and just loving her baby.

I was shocked at how others talked about her, disrespecting and demeaning her.

Systemic racism is VERY REAL.

I work in the #healthcare field-I’m experiencing “Indigenous specific racism” on my job and I can’t begin to imagine the pain-sorrow this beautiful #FirstNations mother endured when she was at her most vulnerable.
She was more brave than most in the end.🪶😡💔🇨🇦
