Well, at least you know where they stand.

Happy international women’s day, friends!
Celebrate International Women's Day by interrupting men with your unsolicited opinions and taking credit for their work. If they get upset about it, be sure to tell them that they sound hysterical and should smile more.

We need more of this sort of activism!
My kid lives in Siddall Hall and sent me these yesterday. First is what was put up by the school, second is the students’ alteration of the administrations’ cowardice.

Here’s the next level of depravity - canceling transition programs for disabled high schoolers.
This is a program for teenagers with serious disabilities who are finishing high school and transitioning to their next steps in life. Trump just axed it, effective immediately, in the middle of the night, with no notice.
the richest man in the world has decided that your kids don't deserve special education programs

As a journalist who covers extremism at the local level, I think it’s a mistake to view Trump’s Napoleonic statement as solely about presidential power. Consider if it’s interpreted as a wink and a nod for any extremist to act outside the law to “save” the country as they see fit

With the NIH cuts, there’s no longer any excuse for any professor, in any discipline, to not address the moment in their classes. You don’t even have to be “political” if that’s how you roll; this changes everything. You need only observe reality. 1/

I have used data from the Household Pulse Survey (fielded by the US Census) over the past few years to study the differences in trans and cis outcomes. In July 2021, they added gender id questions that made those comparisons possible. Those data sets are gone. www.census.gov/programs-sur...

As the article notes, some of these young men are also associated with Peter Thiel…you know, the guy who bankrolled Vance and thinks democracy is a bad idea

How is this bumbling brain dead buffoon the president?

Good reminder - maybe it’s time to get back to practicing yoga to soothe the constant tension.
I just realized how tense I have felt since I woke up.

So this is your reminder to relax your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and take some deep breaths.

Take care of yourself. Put your own mask on before assisting another passenger.

It’s Girl Scout cookie time, and @erininthemorning.com has made it easy to find a trans Scout to support. If you want to avoid the shipping costs, you can choose to donate them on the order page…and then you can also support a local Scout for your cookie fix!
Hey everyone! Incredible news!

Trans Scouts selling GS cookies this year on my list have sold over 50,000 boxes of GS cookies!

If you want girl scout cookies, consider buying from a trans girl scout this year! They'll mail them to you!

This is literally my fav thing to do every year :)
1. Did you know that Girl Scouts has, for a long time, accepted trans girls and nonbinary scouts?

Trans kids are under attack. Every year, I make a thread of trans and nonbinary girl scouts you can get your cookies from.

Lets get our cookies from them this year in solidarity!

I made the switch to StoryGraph a few months ago. It was very easy to import my Goodreads data and I love it so far.
Ok #booksky, let’s talk.

👎🏼Goodreads, owned by Amazon, fuels its monopoly on books.

👍🏼StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform, offers an ethical, ad-free alternative with mood-based recommendations, user control over data, and a focus on inclusivity. Support diversity over corporate power!

i think anyone of good conscience should be utterly horrified & revulsed at how deeply, fanatically devoted j k rowling is to her campaign of transphobic hate

My (adoptive) dad had FTD. As the only sibling who lived in the same state, care decisions fell mostly on my brother. This is a great article with a lot of hope for future treatments.

Another example of cruelty being the purpose…expanding Medicaid would benefit the state and its citizens, but conservatives are instead worried about poor people getting something they “didn’t work for”
Georgia could have just expanded Medicaid to cover most of its low-income population. Instead it instituted a strict work requirement, and the program has enrolled less than 6,000 people for a cost of $58 million. www.thenation.com/article/soci...
Georgia’s Disastrous Medicaid Work Requirements
Georgia’s Republican governor, Brian Kemp, said that 345,000 people would enroll in the state’s Medicaid program, which has strict work requirements—so far just 5,118 have.

This is so disappointing. Policies like this add stress to a group that is already stigmatized. We (humans) need to do better and stop caving to transphobia and hate.
