I'm sorry but I'm noticing that Americans, especially but not limited to sports fans, need to accompany many of their posts with a photo or a graphic of some sort. It feels kind of shouty.

That’s now 22 ex-Tory MPs in the Reform ranks.

The same names and faces that broke your public services - now under Nigel Farage’s umbrella.

To debate Trump's accusation of civilisational erasure you have to accept its racist premise to begin with.

That people from the continents of the Phoenicians and the Ancient Egyptians can't fit into a civilisation. Really?

It's the thugs who react to the racist tropes that erase our civility

I think I'd quite like to die on the day I celebrate my 3 billionth second alive.

Not only does that take you to 95 years of age but for me it'll be Friday 13th.

Whilst on Xitter, if you ever had a look to see what the racists and bigots were posting about you'll suspect, as I do, that all the talk of Farage's racism will simply make them love him more.

There are some really vile people out there.

It's an Americanism to discuss the deep state that Truss has adopted.

This country has always suffered by virtue of the "old guard"'s influence

The landed gentry, the titled nobility, the old boys' network, the clubland classes and the media barons.

Let's dismantle those instead.

So tell me again how Nigel Farage, who just took the largest ever political donation, from a Tory mega-donor, and another donation from the Viscountess wife of the non-dom owner of the Daily Mail, is planning to "take on the establishment"

In years to come, if there's anyone left to write the history of today, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Putin kept the war in Ukraine going in order to prevent European countries from investing in net zero policies that would have destroyed Russia's fossil fuel based economy.

Having read the Independent on what broke Britain's housing I can imagine this conversation...

Me: Isn't it awful paying £23bn a year to house migrants?

Gammon: Yeah, it's terrible

Me: My bad. It's only £1.7bn to house migrants. The £23bn is what Thatcher's right to buy scheme costs us per year.

Surely the default human condition is socialist?

There were no early homo sapiens hoarding all the mammoth meat.

The fact that any hominid species rose to prominence was because of its ability to group together, achieve together and share together.

Austerity begets austerity.

After the first round of austerity and redundancies from most councils/hospitals/schools etc, all future works tend to be outsourced - contracted at incredible cost - because of a lack of in-house expertise or resources.
