And this constant talk of reopening treaties so that they more favour the UK is damaging.

If you can reopen them to force exceptional visa waivers for Britons, or exemptions from food law, or for touring, why not this?

The hard right wins because they can blame Europe.

Show them the door.

Maccabi fans behaved disgracefully in Amsterdam. The police are right to be concerned.

One of the real joys of Europe is that people can be passionate about being French, or Dutch, or whatever, and at the same time hugely enjoy experiencing the food and culture and literature and thought of other countries. It can be ‘and…and’ instead of ‘or…or’.
Maccabi Tel-Aviv fans behaved disgracefully before last November’s match against Ajax in Amsterdam. There are good reasons to be concerned about their presence in Birmingham. Wikipedia reports …

It's time for Starmer to abandon the race to keep up with the economy-sapping immigration policies of the man who brought us Brexit in the first place. Until he takes that step, the “severe and long-lasting” impact of leaving the EU, identified by Reeves today, will only keep getting worse.
Keir Starmer's 'Brexit Is Bad, Let's Make It a Bit Worse' Strategy
The Chancellor just admitted that Brexit has been an economic disaster. It's time the Government stopped making it even worse by imitating Nigel Farage's damaging anti-migration agenda, argues Adam Bi...

When will Labour finally succumb to reality, and break the glass on the "In case of emergency, begin negotiations to rejoin the EU" box?

In case you missed it ...
Barnier has said many times over the years that the door is always open for us to rejoin the EU. We'd lose the rebate we used to have, of course. But anything would be better than continuing our isolation and decline with Brexit.
