Blusher then, it should bruise pink where damaged

Lovely! I think that may be a blusher, the flecks on the top aren’t white enough for pantherina. Panthers have a gutter around the top of the volva.
Does the annulus ( ring) have striations ?

Fuligo septica, Bernwood. Not an uncommon find but there was something sumptuous about this one. #fungifriends #slimemouldsunday #myxos #bernwood

Pluteus species all loving the decaying elm trees in Bernwood, cervinus, chrysophlebius, umbrosus and salicinus

I found 3 more there ,one of which was coming from the growing point of pickerel weed, pontederia cordata, I presume the rest were on decaying stems of the same

Thank you Piotr, yes indeed it is. Someone did the microscope work and it is being sent for sequencing. There aren’t many uk records though probably pseudo rare!

Weird! While clearing blanket weed from an ornamental pond ,I came across three of these small capped mushrooms growing on pondweed or something on the water surface. Nobody seems to be able to id for certain so I will try to collect one for further study, Oxford #mycology #fungifriends #ukwildlife
