Police should not be allowed to violently detain a person who is non-violently exercising their free speech.
This used to be something all Americans agreed on.
Anyone who gave the police this instruction should be fired.

Last night, the Port Washington Police Department used excessive force to arrest a woman for speaking up against the Vantage data center.
We are thankful that this local advocate is safe, and we condemn the Port Washington PD’s actions in the strongest possible terms. SHAME!

I spent the morning with an amazing classroom of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders discussing the role of state government and how things are supposed to work.
They suggested some proposed legislation and then debated the merits of them before a vote.

A note on SaneWashing: I read part of this post to family (all liberal Democrats who consume a lot of news, but not social media), and it blew their mind. They all thought it was parody: if Corporate Media did not SaneWash, it would shock US, his approval would plummet from low (30s) to lower(20s).

We're about to start the Gobbler Grind Marathon in Kansas (kiddos are doing the 5k). This will be my 35th state on my way to knocking out all 50. After the long run last week, I'm just looking to enjoy the fall scenery and have fun without thinking about pace.

I just voted for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) to be more transparent by having their meetings open to the public and making them responsive to open records requests.
