For me, it’s people who reply earnestly to political jokes. Or people who chastise for posting about anything beyond *gesticulates wildly* ALL OF THIS!!!

What is your favorite kind of person to block?

Excellent use of the word “retcon”.

Bluesky is the best social media experience I’ve had, and I was there for early Twitter.

I recognize one of those bottles!

I used to use that bridge to get from the lake to work on my bike every day. Always worth a stop and a turn north. I’d recommend the bridge over the tracks in the Ashland green line stop. At night you can see trains running all the way to the loop, sparks flying.

My favorite nighttime memories are when the wind would blow and the pine trees over my parents’ tiny backyard would creak. I would yearn to be out there, blowing with them.

Reading this article felt like vindication of all the unease I have felt about the AI bubble. 🫧

A very efficient, distilled and to me pretty persuasive version of the bear case against AI economics.

I have also had more than one pen at a time inked with Glassblower’s Flame. The only other ink to earn that distinction is their Voltaic Arc. I’m a sucker for the sheen.

ICE Nazis in Chicago tried to kidnap a food delivery worker but my man was too fast for those slow bastards

That looks beautiful! I will need to hold one in my hand first. I’m going to the Commonwealth Pen Show this weekend and hopefully someone will have one to try. I would love a 1.1mm stub.

You can’t leave us hanging here. There is a tax to be paid: 1 picture of said fountain pen, details about it, and the ink filled.

This raises a question for me that maybe you could answer. When we explore the outer bounds of a model’s instruction, how do we know the difference between weighted word choice and some developer’s Easter egg?

Earlier! iPods got names and attributed personalities. I do think humans want to see human-like attributes in non-human things, pets, and it makes it easier to talk about outputs from models. But stepping outside the discourse for a second struck me as really odd.

I thought anthropomorphism ran amok after the iDevices came out, now look at what people think about LLMs!

what would an LLM do if it were bored with nothing to do?

‘“[T]here can be no assurance that the usage of AI will enhance our products or services or be beneficial to our business, including our efficiency or profitability,” Meta wrote in its 10k form last year. ‘ LMAO.

On Amtrak as in real life, the Vermonter is much nicer after the New Yorkers get off.

I will second this, I love it.

I’m visiting my parents who are streaming church this morning. I just heard a prerecorded message that exhorts the faithful to “tap your phone to the disk on the chair in front of you or one of the giving kiosks around the auditorium.” They also accept crypto.

Exactly! My local sporting goods store and co-op saw an uptick in my business anyway. It’s forcing me to think, which it’s good. Target’s double-cross just felt so personal! I’m also rationally angry at Billionaires, who should not exist. Damn hoarders.
