this is a good story but it shows that people still fundamentally misunderstand LLMs - there is no "working properly", they're inherently probabilistic models. hallucinations aren't a bug, they're a fundamental part of language models. these aren't fact machines!!!

Look at aircraft. In both the Pacific (anyone remember that theatre?) AND Europe, by 45 Allies were mass producing aircraft that were superior **in every way** to those of their outdated opponents'. The "wonder weapon" strategy was a serious mistake! Overengineered vanity projects were not superior!
