Last Wednesday I finished writing my 20th book. I had to rush off the next day for a weekend-long event so I feel like I didn't really process that at the time. I have written TWENTY BOOKS. TWENTY. Feels kinda miraculous.

It’s the height of summer, and my summer-iest book is definitely THE GHOST TREE. I wrote this as a response to all the coming-of-age horror books about boys that I read in the ‘80s; mine is about two teen girls who used to be best friends and are now growing apart. And of course, there’s a monster.

My son told me the other day that when I die he is going to take all the books I have acquired over the course of my life (it's a lot of books) and build a mausoleum out of them. His rationale was "just in case you rise from the dead and want something to read." A+ kid; I'll keep him.
