Always baffling that laypeople believe the MSM is the one capitalist endeavour that isn't driven by the financial interests of the capital behind it.
There's a 5th columnist smell around much of UK media these days.
Worst comparison I've seen since Paul Hayward wrote an article about Andy Carroll suggesting he was the heir to football maverick Frank Worthington.

Because he had the same hair.
Your formula takes the losing voters to Reform bit and ignores the agency of the tactical voters who voted Plaid.

The result is to be expected - nonsensical

If a burglar was attempting to relieve me of the sums of money Kwarteng cost me in interest, I'd be morally justified in shooting him.
Certain players in the game can be rehabilitated as if nothing happened.

Shit Jumanji.
"We asked an economically illiterate fool (a fool who crashed the economy a mere 3 years ago) what the UK economy needs to reinvigorate itself"
Opinion I Consolidating the left on a platform of economic populism will impoverish the country

🖋️ Kwasi Kwarteng

Tbh, the utter contempt you're showing to your readers here is quite something.

This fucking clown has cost me thousands in mortgage payments.

bsky.app/profile/chur...
Our broadcast media can't even remember far back enough to realise that booking Kwasi Kwarteng to talk about the economy might be a huge fucking insult to mortgage holders.
The utter contempt for their readership is quite something to behold.

This is a guy who made millions of us poorer overnight. Took away what little disposable income we had and turned it into higher mortgage repayments.
Man crashes economy, is credibly linked to a dodgy fucker who financially benefitted from it, and yet...

and yet...

'hey lads, let's ask him to give our readers his expert view on the economy".

I assure you, it's not possible to hate our media even half as much as it hates us, it's audience.
Sorry @theipaper.com but WHY is this guy talking to us about what will make the UK poorer? He was happy to grenade our economy twice…
Brexit and then his batshit budget with Truss.
He should be in political oblivion for the mess he made and the price we all have to pay for his party’s failures.
A whispered Latin incantation ought to be enough.

🔴UK Government’s ‘Failure to Investigate Foreign Interference’ Challenged in Europe’s Highest Court

The group of former MPs warn that UK elections are “still at risk” over the Government’s failure to investigate “credible evidence” of Russian interference

The BBC couldn't give a shit about trends, it's a player in the game, not the trusted observer it cosplays as.

Such a relief that Russia lost in Caerphilly.
You make Simon 'Never Knowingly Correct' Jenkins look like a sage in comparison.

Painting Reform as 'insurgents' is just a tired framing of British politics. Brexit, Farage et al are the political mainstream. They may not hold many seats in Westminster, but they have defined the last decade of British politics.

Not quite sure why the media is presenting the Caerphilly result as a disaster for Labour, rather than as a perfect execution of its electoral strategy.

That strategy for *months* now has been to tell everybody who might otherwise be inclined to vote for them to fuck off.

And off they have fucked.
The temptation was just too much.

"We've got a trusted voice here, it's ours if we just take control. Most people won't question the BBC's neutrality, so what if we co-opted it to manufacture consent and move the Overton Window as far right as we possibly can?"

Sorcery in Caerphilly:
@johnsweeneyroar.bsky.social visits the Welsh valleys on the trail of a Russian spy, his wife, a Reform politician taking bribes, party leader Nigel Farage and a vanishing by-election candidate.

That scene of the Welsh BBC correspondent being the only person interviewing Caerphilly's new Plaid AM while the rest of the media interviewed Reform's loser in the background was far too on the nose.
That's not my point.

I had no idea what their politia persuasion was. It was never about them.

Every Neil interview is about him. He's a fraud.
