Republicans say Democrats want to raise taxes. Here’s a look at some of the key tax bills that have been introduced in Richmond.
Overall, the theme seems to be taxing upper-income earners more and then using that money either for programs that benefit lower-income earners or for tax breaks aimed at specific groups.

Open letter to our Senators:

Gentlemen, Ladies, we don't really care about ICE not getting even more funding. We don't care about more "training" and more rules they won't follow.

We want ICE de-funded. Dismantled. Gone. Driven out of our cities.

Just a snippet of today. This is Springfield, OR city hall. From here after speakers, we piled in cars and drove 15 mph through both Springfield and Eugene for hours to disrupt traffic, coming across pockets of protesters all along the route. There were also actions at the fed building in Eugene.

Stephen Miller--who called ICU nurse Alex Pretti a “domestic terrorist” and an “assassin” who “tried to murder federal agents"--now says his execution squad may not have followed "protocol." There's no backtracking, no lying coverup, that will free this sick man from his eventual fate. Nuremberg.

It is conventional wisdom that the Washington Post's current death spiral and was caused by the Harris endorsement fiasco. I actually think it was these endorsements in January 2025.

A Republican-led Utah audit of over 2 million voter registrations found only one noncitizen, who never voted.

The results undercut the right-wing narrative of widespread noncitizen voting, especially as Republicans renew their push for a proof-of-citizenship requirement in voter registration.
Utah reviewed its voter rolls for noncitizens. It found one. Who never voted
The results sharply undercut the narrative of widespread noncitizen voting Republicans are using to promote new nationwide restrictions on voting.

Yes, the GOP controls Congress. That's why it's key to show Congress COULD stop the madness. And it's not just the DHS bill. Congress could repeal the prior multi-year $75b for DHS; set up a special investigative committee (cf. Watergate); amend the Insurrection Act; etc.

Do people realize there are always a few Dems who vote to pass GOP atrocities, like the recent extra $10B in ICE funding? Will the Senate pass it as well, after today’s murder?
