Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

unfortunately American pop culture has spent decades aggressively encouraging the notion that anyone who seeks political office is somewhere between incompetant and malicious, and thus inherently suspect

Textbook. If you are surprised, it is because this shit usually, at least not in the last 150 years, does not happen in the US. And the past is mild in comparison

I've ridden Amtrak, MBTA, MetroNorth, LIRR, NJ Transit, MARC, and SEPTA, and never had to show an ID.
Markwayne Mullin defends "show me your papers": "If you're here legally, there's nothing to hide. Most people already are walking around with a government-issued ID, meaning your Real ID or your driver's license. If you go board a train here, you gotta show your ID."

Gross incompetence.
KENNEDY: The Census Bureau is under your jurisdiction & responsible for defining what it means to be poor, is that right?

LUTNICK: I don't know

K: Well you need to look, bc it does. What's the % of Americans who live below poverty level?

L: I don't know

K: It's around 11%. It's been constant

They were wearing masks in Los Angeles all summer.
FOX NEWS: When it comes to masks & federal agents, is that something Republicans will stand firm on?

HUSTED: That's something for the president, and Tom Homan, & DHS to determine what's safe. It's been below 0 in Mpls. If you're going to be doing work outside, having a mask on is a practical issue

Yep - I always lose my mind when Trumpists in focus groups go with the "we're respected internationally!" line. No, you aren't. You're at best the objects of pity and scorn.

Seahawks were far and away the better team, and deserve the win.

Most of us who are Patriots fans were just glad we got to go on an amazing and unexpected run this year. Draft some help on the offensive line and find a stud pass rusher and get ready for next year.
