Except Mamdani requested the meeting, *not* Trump. It was a stupid ass fucking choice on Mamdani's part.
I've been trying to articulate why I'm okay with Mamdani's afternoon with Trump but not with Democrats playing nice with Trump last winter, & I think I finally have it: Trump wanting a meeting after *you* win is different from Trump wanting a meeting after *he* wins. Win, then set terms.

Canada is releasing a set of stamps celebrating the nation's graphic novelists.

These stamps feature Kate Beaton, Jimmy Beaulieu, Guy Delisle, Julie Doucet, Bryan Lee O’Malley and Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas, alongside some of their famous works.

like. again it goes without saying but CAN YOU FUCKING IMAGINE if Biden had ever closed his eyes during a meeting for more than 0.05 seconds

the entire media would have been swarming like flies on a particularly fresh, redolent shit.

In Thanksgiving unity message, Trump called a Governor a big fat slob, & insulted a mayor who has a masters degree in education. This after announcing his prosecution of a war hero for speaking truth. Word has it the pardoned turkey said: “even if you have to kill me, get me away from this guy”.

Sen. Mark Kelly on MS NOW: "I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane. I've been nearly shot down multiple times … My wife, Gabby Giffords, meeting with her constituents, shot in the head, six people killed around her … We know what political violence is.  And we know what causes it, too."

Given how Trump’s other pardons have gone, I expect Gobble to be arrested for sex crimes in a few weeks, and Waddle will try to assassinate a prominent elected Democrat.

One thing I've noticed is that the "American politics needs more ogres" people always fall in line behind privileged failsons like Fetterman and Platner who cosplay authenticity, and never actual all-American badasses like Mark Kelly.

They demand masculinity but only support whiny wusses.

What they said about Harris never was about being opposed to wars.

It was about being opposed to a woman commanding them and defending our allies and classical liberal values.

They never opposed following Donald Trump to commit plunder, rape, and murder for fun.

On my hands and knees begging them to try this. Go ahead and do it, drag a decorated veteran astronaut United States Senator in for a literal court martial on charges that he said it's good to disobey illegal orders. Let's fucking go.

Senator Mark Kelly flew 39 combat missions during Desert Storm, has flown on four space shuttle missions, and served Arizonans with honor. He’s an American hero.

Trump used bone spurs to dodge the draft.

He can try to silence @captmarkkelly.bsky.social—it’s not gonna work.

I’ve been a parent myself long enough to say it: A lot of parents are holding their sons to lower standards than their daughters, and then complaining that schools are anti-boy.

Oh, wow, your son’s school has it out for boys. That’s crazy. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the way you correct your daughter for forgetting to say “thank you” every time but don’t say anything when you see your son shove a much younger kid off the slide.

This would be appalling in any context and for any victim, but the fact that they're invading a commercial kitchen to drag someone off who came here to work their ass over a hot stove to make native-born restaurant-goers a little more comfortable and well off really shows how negative sum this is

maybe if people don't want Jewish people to consider emigrating to Israel, they should try not making Jewish people feel unsafe in the US by protesting outside their synagogues

and if you're gonna protest at a religious institution, start with the churches exporting homophobia to the global south

Once again, I remind you that this woman cannot be allowed anywhere near the strategy or leadership of the Democratic Party:

Also, stop it with this BS. Biden correctly said the economy in 2024 was good, because it was. Yes, no one believed it. That wasn't his fault.
Slotkin: "He's trying to distract us from the big stories of last week, the Epstein files and economy. He's tweeting 'the economy is the best it's ever been' -- amazing considering the public isn't stupid. It reminded me of Joe Biden. Biden tried to tell us for a year that the economy was great."

The results of this latest Pew poll are one reason why, IMO, nobody should be asking public health professionals about “how to restore trust in public health”.

We’re not the ones who caused the distrust. Public health isn’t perfect but mining “distrust” was and is a Republican strategy.
How Do Americans View Childhood Vaccines, Vaccine Research and Policy?
A majority of Americans say childhood vaccines are effective at preventing illness, but slightly fewer are confident that the vaccine schedule is safe.
