Whoah. Version 14 is looking pretty amazing. I know those roads in the Berkeley Hills. They're challenging.

Can you think of a single movie in which there is a video from the government denouncing its political opponents playing on a loop in public spaces in which that government was the good guy?

How would you react if someone decided you’d no longer have water treatment & plumbing?

That you’d be rolling a dice with water from your faucet. That you’d have to poop in a bucket & dump it in the street, your yard, a ditch.

You’d probably be horrified & outraged, right?

Judge Bill Young is an 85 year old Reagan appointee, for what that's worth.

Wen should direct more attention to incidents like these because Americans are more likely to respond to brutality to pets than to brutality to human beings.

EL PASO — a family says ICE showed up at their house looking for migrants and shot and KILLED THEIR DOG, then didn’t help them as the agent ran away and was not identified.

They know they are ridiculous people and the thing they hate most is being laughed at. They want everyone terrified and intimidated by how MANLY and LETHAL they are, not laughing because they got got by a grating frog.

This video is everywhere because it's a hilarious visual refutation of Portland being on fire. You can't get a mass movement going without convincing the masses

so yes, this does do something actually

This literally does nothing. You are not beating fascism by dressing up in inflatable suits and dancing

Portland is leading the way. This is how you (non violently) beat Fascism. Humor and ridicule are key.

Picture how big the Hoover Dam is. An absolute unit. The Hoover Dam has a power capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW).

The solar farm that the Admin just cancelled could have produces 6.2 GW of power. That's more than 3 Hoover Dams.

SCOOP: The Bureau of Land Management says the largest solar project in Nevada — the Esmeralda 7 mega-farm — has been canceled

The news was quietly dropped via a sudden website update with no public word from any of the companies involved or a statement from the agency

People who have no clue like to talk up "practical effects" and dismiss CGI as if the latter were somehow cheating. All of that CGI is the result of an army of artists doing artist things. Show them some respect, because most of the time their work is invisible.

Yes, comics present the interesting challenge of giving the illusion of being temporal. I guess prose can really take on that same challenge, which is why we talk about pacing.

But cinema has total control over the tempral aspect, making the responsibility unique.

Fun stuff.

Yes, because a comic book is not a temporal medium. I tell my students that cinema is closer to music than to paintings.
