The lines are getting clogged from calls and Mastercard is feeling very pressured, they're looking into how to act in response. They're collecting information on callers to have a better understanding of who is calling in re the censorship issue

y'know, if tech companies weren't so fired up to call every single thing "AI" it would be a lot easier to distinguish "ML spam filter that is well-sandboxed and tuned on your emails" from "giant context and IP-eroding foundation model that makes people paranoid and unhappy"
since the "google is now training gemini on your email contents" thing keeps bumping around here: it's _not happening_. I say this not to defend google but because I know a lot of people that have broken their filtering and made their lives much more annoying from sheer misinformation.
The malwarebytes Google opting-your-emails-into-ai-training thing is not true. The post is based on one bad tweet.
I know anti-tech lamenting is a Bluesky core principle, but please use the same judgement you would for any other clickbait.

Lets help Rawan! Her teeth have gotten so painful that even just sitting around and posting to talk is painful. Its distracting from helping her family and education. She's at $725 now but I think with everyone chipping in we can get her further down. I will do my best to help her with this too

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Rawan's been telling me about her teeth. She needs caps and she's in extreme pain even when eating. She can only eat soft food. That limits what she is able to enjoy on top of hard studying and work. Please give what you can for her so studying and supporting her family isn't even tougher than it is
I can't bear the pain anymore. Today I went to the dentist and she said my teeth are in danger and gave me my first dental appointment yesterday. I still need $780. I hope you can help me so I can complete my dental treatment😭😭💔

Politics but I find radfem/lesbian ‘magically the most marginalised’ stuff annoying as someone who was sexually and psychologically abused as a minor by a lesbian. And has had friends exposed to this type of abuse. im open to learning but I have found nothing that demystifies abusive lesbianism.
