My man they literally had a long running congressional committee and prosecuted 1000s of these fuckers. This is just a-historical bullshit + Murc's Law.
Not sure if this is the case but holy shit was it the case with Jan 6 when EVERYONE agreed it was one of the worst things Ever and then Dems… let millions of people just lose interest in a matter of weeks
Sadly, this is why Democratic leaders needed to act when the iron was hot — to lead, get out on the streets, and mobilize public opinion.
It may now be that their moment has passed and the public has moved on. If so, what a shame; what a lost opportunity.

An incredible retconning from a reporter. First of all, "Democrats" convened a well known committee on the subject and held well produced hearings that ran for weeks. Second a fantastic demonstration of the green lantern theory!

journalism.columbia.edu/faculty/nich... This guy answers the phone when you call him and loves to dissemble about the harpers letter. Give him a ring and ask how he feels about free speech!

Yes. The Dem party needs work, no doubt. And that's hard, and noping out means you don't want to do the hard work (lazy) and you don't believe the hard work can yield results (cynicism). In a 2-party, winner-take all-system where one of the parties is openly fascist, opting out is not an option.

I don’t think garland escapes criticism. The ultimate outcome was likely the same but the social pressures on the corrupt court are much different if the trial is starting sept ‘22 instead of sept ‘24.

To be clear, the federal government can't *stop* local and state authorities from conducting their own investigation. They can just make it a lot more difficult by denying access to evidence, witnesses, etc.

The times is making their interview a multi-day, multi-article event, and it had such news value that their LEAD story on the day after the interview is a short story about the fact that they got the interview!

If you are anxious and sad about the state of the world, that's fine, and there are plenty of strategies for dealing with that. But I think you already know that drive-by online dooming isn't a strategy. It's selfish and adolescent. It's a contagion that only spreads the worst of you, not the best.

How long until the Times' “Republicans celebrate, Democrats skeptical” and “Some legal experts say this is illegal, other’s aren’t so sure” stories drop?
