Monday 11/10 COTD is the Magician. He reminds us that we are capable of magic.
When the magician shows up in a reading, i know the person is going to be successful in reaching their goal.
It looks like it's an "I can do it" kind of day. Let's get our magic on, and get started.

If you read one thing this weekend, read this. The way we treat young people who are a little 'different' is endlessly shocking. With thanks and respect to Kate Szymankiewicz.

This is hard to watch. I don't have words for how angry this makes me.
ICE agents in Chicago violently detain a non verbal autistic man for being “non compliant”
He couldn’t “comply” because of his disability…they don’t care
This is not the first time they’ve gone after a disabled person
They target the most vulnerable because it’s an easy way to meet their quota

A rocket ship
Transporting and transforming
Thought into symbols on paper
When they're read
The process reversed
It steadies my hand
The one that trembles
With age and urgency
I will always prefer pen and paper
The medium where my poems first arose.

Realistic trauma recovery starts by just noticing, without shame or judgment (that part's important), how often we reflexively try to cram ourselves into an identity that doesn't fit us just because someone else expects or desires us to "be" that person.
Just notice today.

I have 6 days left in shelter. I’m on a waitlist for another one. I may have to call other shelters outside of the county. It is November in Wisconsin and I’m scared of freezing to death outside. I hate having to e-beg. Here’s my gofundme link. Please #reskeet or donate.
