I'm pretty sure every argument in favor for throwing the world's resources towards Abominable Intelligence is just "but what if tho"

That includes this story about bein weawy scawwed, because anything to counter their fantasies on a surface or deep technical level is just met with "but what if tho"

Glad to see Russ Vought is setting himself up to go to jail when accountability starts.

Three key points:
1) The admin has been planning mass firings to begin in October since February
2) The work necessary to carry out mass firings is illegal during a shutdown, violating the Antideficiency Act, which carries a criminal penalty
3) This harms America, ridding us of talent and expertise

Even in a future where America balkanizes, life would still find a way to make me dust off a text file with ASCII diagrams from IETF just to make a vendor, provider, or TAC agent cooperate.

If there's one thing I can count on it's work putting me in a situation where I have to quote RFCs at people. This time being RFC4364 which is a nice change of pace to break off the neteng rust

I popped the luna pro open and it smells like ozone in there so something must’ve let the magic smoke out. The pot that adjusts where the needle lands during battery check can’t offset enough to correct for batteries that I confirmed good voltage

Add one for the project pile I guess

One of my coworkers started a game store with a separate but attached clubhouse for himself and his friends to keep their armies and terrain at. He just charges a small membership fee to keep the place running in exchange for the door code so people can play when he's gone. Genius idea really

Lmao dude the music in it slaps too, I’m hyped for the full release

Don't Stop, Girlypop having Tommy the cowboy dinosaur tamagotchi that you have to feed love into or else he explodes, forcing you to chain multikills, is such a good idea

Excuse roughly inverting a not-quite-level phone pic of sleeved sheets, but I think I'm getting the hang of using movements to compose the shot that I want.

My Luna Pro needs to be re-calibrated so I metered with my Minolta and forgot to consider averaging bright sky+people in grey+black face paint
A phone picture of four sheets of sleeved 4x5 negatives that are on a light panel then inverted to a positive. All from the Ohio Renaissance Festival again.

The top left is the joust from behind two spectators with the focus being a narrow band up the center keeping the two spectators in the foreground as well as the knights jousting in the midground in focus.

The top right is looking down a street lined with shops and a music venue. A woman is sitting on a bench in the foreground on the bottom left of the image. The focus goes from her and the banner behind her reading "Marvelous Melodies The Lady Victoria" and somewhat diagonally down the road following the pirate selling Pickles and festival goers.

The bottom left is the front entrance during the opening ceremony where a sea of people are "lined" up waiting to get in as the Queen and her guard are giving a speech from the battlements. From the sea of people to the queen on the battlements is in focus.

The bottom right is a hastily done portrait of two adorable nerds I met and, I believe, will be married in a few weeks. The man's dressed as his Tiefling rogue from D&D while the woman's dressed as a viking. It's severely under exposed so let's see if I can save this in the darkroom because I know they'll be here this weekend.

Cracked a joke to my psychiatrist about already making peace with having to participate in gli anni di piombo americani once shit pops off. It's cool, we still only scheduled a 20min follow up so her laugh *was* genuine

Neat, there's going to be a bunch of riverboats this weekend with "cuisine and music from their home port", which just means I'm gonna chill at the one from NOLA
