Exposing Fascists: Best Practices

This document came out of numerous discussions with anti-fascists across the country. There has been repeated concern among ourselves and our comrades about a culture of anti-fascist activism that views exposing fascists online as the end-all be-all of anti-fascist organizing. Online exposés are one tool of many that anti-fascists use to materially disrupt fascist organizing in our communities. An exposé of a Nazi by itself is meaningless if it does not have a material impact on that fascist, their organizing, or the communities they threaten.

Here we address some common stumbling blocks and best practices for outing Nazis in a way that sustains our movements, protects our communities, and most importantly, materially impacts fascist organizing.

Please reach out if you have more info about Joseph William Behling of Manchester NH, previously of Hooksett NH! Allegedly “Marcus NH” of Patriot Front & the New England Active Club, and involved in Patriot Front’s efforts to recruit teens, Behling is potentially a serviceman in the US Navy.

A white man of average build, he wears a white gaiter that covers the lower half of his face, including his nose, black aviators, a tan baseball cap with a Patriot Front flag patch on the front, and a navy blue zip-up jacket with a hood. The right sleeve has a pair of patches: the Christian identity flag, and an Appeal to Heaven flag. His right arm is extended outward, and he clutches a cross (with a figure of Jesus crucified upon it) as if attempting to ward something off.

Kevin Pyles was arrested on felony charges related to violent threats he made towards a Phoenix synagogue. This briefly hit local news following his arrest but, thanks to court record requests and some digging, we were able to confirm Pyles’ affiliation with the neo-Nazi group Goyim Defense League.

This is where all the disinformation, neverending hate mongering, and horseshit media inevitably leads. @lookoutnews.bsky.social is reporting that he falsely blamed the last five school shootings on transgender people.

Police say the call - recorded by the crisis line - was placed at 2:59 p.m. and lasted roughly 14 minutes. While in custody, the affidavit alleges, Gokey made multiple statements praising Charlie Kirk as a "martyr" and said, "political violence breeds political violence."
The document also reports transphobic comments attributed to Gokey, including false statements that "the last five school shootings have been committed by transgenders" and that "transgenderism should be eradicated from public society."

It can be, but it's also used an appropriated joke.

If it was being used transphobically, that is evidence that he is a transphobe, but not evidence that he is a groyper, which is a specific fascist grouping.

I feel like I've spent today sorting through accusations of this guy being a groyper, only to find that those aren't based on anything. There isn't an indictment yet.
