Tessa Munt MP highlighted Savannah’s case in Parliament. She said the Government’s ME delivery plan says avoidable deaths should be ‘never events’ but her critical condition was made worse by inadequate treatment and without specialist services cases like this will keep recurring.

Remember how in recent years, the media blamed lockdowns for lack of school readiness in UK when those reports came out? Now, figures are even worse in kids born after lockdowns, yet no admission that media had been wrong!

Thanks for namechecking @inclusivenew.bsky.social's INN the Arts Group's coproduced good practice framework for safety from airborne infection in the arts (DM for a copy). I certainly can't take all the credit! Looking forward to Serina's play - remarkable for itself modelling good practice.
“In the UK, advocacy for clean air in live performance has been growing. Dr. Sally Witcher OBE @salwitcher.bsky.social founder of INN the Arts (“Indoor Safety in the Arts”), has developed a framework of best practices aimed at reducing airborne infection risk in theatres and venues.“

Yet, I'm struck by complacency & cognitive dissonance wrt vax & possible impact.
For flu, a handful of HA muts is bad clinically, despite OK ANNUAL vax ND50.

BA.3.2.2 is off the map, but apparently all is well...

⚠️NEW research:

Among pregnant people infected with Covid-19 (Delta & Omicron), vaccination was linked to:

📉 ~60% lower hospitalisations
📉 ~90% lower ICU
📉 Preterm birth risk was also lower

🚨 Vaccination groups remain unchanged for Covid-19.

The JCVI have, again, failed to recommend that all Clinically Vulnerable people should be protected from the constantly evolving virus.

This goes against unchanged WHO 2024 guidance (see image).
