I trick computers in to doing what people want. I skeet badly, and only in a personal capacity.

I wonder if the leaked OBR doc publishing an hour early, likely due to a time zone mismatch on the server, will finally see the end of the time changing daylight savings nonsense, that would be nice

they think it's all OBR, it is now

Someone clever at taxes please explain to me why Petrol/Diesel cars wouldn't also be taxed per-mile. Seems like a really strange thing to target specifically?

EVs already pay VED so no different in that matter

damnit I'm old enough to have misread that as SCART then wondered why the hell a 50" QLED would have that

It's really rude that when I don't order anything, magical little treats don't arrive at my door.

A nightclub conversation introduced former TV presenter George Lamb to the concept of regenerative agriculture. He jumped right in.

There's something very objectionable about buying IT accessories which are frequently thrown out as e-waste.

No, I can't find any e-waste for sale locally. Yes, it's probably worth the money. No, I don't like it.

Once again we have underestimated the quantity of sweets required for trick and treat, so the offerings are getting gradually stranger

We're now on microwave popcorn, sugar free Tango cans, and two raw potatoes

I suspect the potatoes will be a hit tbh

If your "clear all notifications" button creates a new notification/toast that I must dismiss, I truly hate you

Looking at you, Slack

Apple TV+ is rebranding as Apple TV, so to avoid confusion, the current physical device which is primarily for watching things will be rebranded to Apple Watch

Fair play to the couple on Grand Designs who said they couldn‘t afford fancy 3D renders while designing it

Next shot was of course the fancy render Grand Designs made of it. Maybe slightly late for them but I respect the hustle

_sigh_. Just asked an AI agent to improve the speed of a tool based on the performance profiling I had done.

It removed the profiler, which sped it up by 20%, and declared success.

Thanks great

Fun to wake up to find Imgur completely blocked in the UK, presumably because of the OSA

Took all of 5 minutes to set up a policy-based VPN tunnel for those domains, but at least the children are safe

I will quietly reiterate my points here on ILR.

1. It is _very_ expensive - Family route, anyway.
2. This has very literally caused my Canadian wife to expedite her citizenship process ASAP.
3. She, and I, will naturally be voting against anyone threatening the I in ILR.

Retrospectively removing indefinite leave to remain would be immoral and economically damaging. It would tear families apart.
Attacking it as ‘potentially illegal’ is completely beside the point.
Argue with the (awful) idea. Don’t try ’well, actually you can’t do that’.

Calling my health insurance is such a blast

"If you're calling about your BONES, MUSCLES or JOINTS, please press 1."

Just a great sentence, honestly
