Today is a day most people from Halifax won’t ever forget. My wife’s grandmother was permanently injured because of the blast her fingers were caught in the desk when the blast occurred. Due to the amount of injuries she never got them looked at. It’s also the largest LOD of Canadian firefighters.
For those not in or from Halifax, today at 0905 Atlantic time, marks the 108th anniversary of the largest non-nuclear man made explosion. The #halifaxexplosion killed over 2000 and injured over 9000. We'll never have the exact figures because of the toral devastation.

Sounds like they did the best they could in a no win situation. My thoughts also are with all the responding first responders, as a former ARFF firefighter this would be among the worse case scenario you could face.
Let me just say. The fact that there was an engine missing and they kept the plane level till the end is a testament to their skill. They fought till the very end. Tragic
