i may be one of the few people who actually has this movie on dvd bc i had a brief obsession with the set design at age 12. but even my weird intense kid obsession was for the background and sets and not the rest of the movie lol
My take on the "AVATAR hasn't made a big cultural impact" thing is that for movies in the last 40 years to make a big cultural impact, people need to watch them over and over and over, and among popular films, AVATAR is uniquely bad at being a movie that people want to watch on their TV.
