What part of this is a "negotiation"? What exactly did the Israeli government concede? Hamas is expected to give up their weapons. Good. But will Israel end apartheid and occupation? Become a real democracy? Cause if they don't, what has really changed apart from the number of civilians dead?

Like, I'm sorry, am I just supposed to forget years of war crimes, forced starvation, bombing hospitals, shooting kids waiting for food? How am I supposed to trust the men who planned to ethnically cleanse Gaza for tourism with the rebuilding project? Am I crazy? What the hell is the tone right now?

First of all: I couldn't be happier that it seems like Israel's genocide of the Palestinian people will slow down - for now. But I don't like the vibe coming from the media right now. Am I supposed to thank Netanyahu for deciding that a few tens of thousands of dead Palestinians are enough for now?

Was just perusing older files and came across some that me and @coffeeandkismet.bsky.social sent each other back when we were living and working in different countries. Gave me a chuckle. British weather truly is something else.

I just realized that from the top of "Sundered Towers" you can see Solitude, Whiterun, and even the College of Winterhold, all in one 90 fov shot. #Skyrim

No one will remember this project in two months, but the investors will already have poured more money into this bubble by then, thanks to your involuntary ad campaign. Yes, unions should stand strong against this abomination. But clarify that it's not because it can compete but because it's wrong.

Sad to see Hollywood falling for the AI hype trap and sounding the alarm over losing roles to a "model" that, in the ad material, looks objectively awful, with warping pupils, melting teeth and wandering hairlines. Guys, you're reacting exactly as that company wanted you to.

For the grift, yes. But they know it won't last, because they know their regime is a fart in the wind.

When you arrive, nervously look around the room and lock eyes with this guy.
CNN headline: "Hegseth orders hundreds of senior military officers to Virginia for highly unusual meeting" photo of Ernst Röhm, NSDAP officer who, at the behest of Hitler, was murdered among other top nazi officials to oust internal opposition.

Not saying delaying a train filled with hundreds of cars isn't unheard of, but this attempt at framing leftism as inherently opposed to the entire train network is so hilariously at odds with reality, it makes me wonder what RAF PTSD the judge in question was going through when they wrote this.

Tagesschau claims train sabotage may be down to leftist extremists who, according to the constitutional court, consider Deutsche Bahn the "largest logistics company of the capitalist profit-based economy". Right. Leftists famously hate state-owned public transport. Is this the RAF-scare 70s?

One of my students said in class today that they use AI all the time to improve their emails and acted like everyone did that. Frankly, I would prefer an honest, misanthropic email over a glossy, vapid sheen of AI that makes it sound like everything else.

And no, I'm not talking about the fact it's rushed because of time and budget constraints, it was just way less funny and - ironically - lacking in the humanity department. Just way too dark and inconsequential.

@coffeeandkismet.bsky.social and I just finished the series Upload. First three seasons were great, I for one thought it was, at times, almost up there with the best piece of television out there - The Good Place, but then season 4 rolled around and it crapped the bed. What the hell happened?

If a bigot ever gives you the "you can't say anything any more" spiel, just tell em there's a simple trick to have all of your most heinous rhetoric be forgiven and forgotten in the eyes of the state and media.

almost more insulting than when the AI steps in on and over your web search to give you the wrong answer is when the AI steps in and uses twenty gigawatt-hours and increases the entropy of the universe more than any single person could hope to all to tell you "i don't know"

»Seelengrube« feiert heut Release.

In Germany there's a saying:

If 9 people sit down with a fascist without protest and fight there's 10 fascists sitting at the table.

Something liberals like @ezraklein.bsky.social should really take to heart.
