One awesome thing about being an indie writer: pretty much every person I've encountered who does it has learned a ton from other indies who've generously shared their knowledge and support, and wants to pay it forward.
With the awful WaPo layoffs and the state of journalism more broadly, if it's useful for any writers and reporters considering going indy, @molly.wiki, @xoxogossipgita.bsky.social of Aftermath, @jasonkoebler.bsky.social of 404 Media, @edzitron.com and me will do a little workshop next week.

COOL THING ALERT!

There is a brand new, ultra-high quality rip of the "lost" Boards of Canada bootlegs on YT. It's a fun story, I'll attempt to summarize it.

Boards of Canada are the legendary electronic music band that are responsible for influencing... basically a billion bands that came later.

Okay folks, one thing you need to understand about social media is that in participating in it *you* are creating rhetoric.

My recent posts are trying to address that fact and maybe get you to think a little bit harder about what your rhetoric might encourage or discourage.

A question for Satya Nadella: What percentage of your time has been saved by using cognitive amplifier tools and would you be willing to take an equivalent pay cut to demonstrate the value of AI?
