The Americans. That train scene, damn
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

My company is based in #Seattle, and we mostly use #Julialang. We're thinking of hosting a Julia meetup, maybe mid-Dec. Maybe a couple of talks, pizza, etc. Any thoughts? Would you attend?

The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on this day, October 28th, in 1886 in New York Harbor. 🗽

In 1987, President Reagan signed a proclamation designating October 28th as National Immigrants Day. 🗃️

One of the coolest things about industry work is really nailing down problems like this
Sometimes I’ll see a paper that implements an idea I’ve had but implements it poorly for engineering reasons. But then it’s hard to write a follow up paper because it’s not “novel” anymore

“Unlike human intelligence, it lacks the humility to acknowledge uncertainty...When unsure, it doesn’t defer to deeper research or human oversight; instead, it often presents estimates as facts.”

They present it as a deep thing, but this is just "point estimates have limitations". Which, duh?

There's apparently an @inbounds github user who gets tagged when you forget to use backticks in your #julialang PRs.

Probably lots of other anthropomorphic macros out there

The @washingtonpost.com app used to let you invite a friend to the crossword. New update takes that away and forces this chaotic mess with colors, ✅s, and letter bubbles. It's *so* much worse

Any cross-platform "play together" crossword apps out there?
