Check out this wonderful execution of 1 page TTRPG design: Journeyman by @fromniki.bsky.social.

It's a solo boxing RPG with a tight game loop, a beautiful layout, and a clear story that can be told in 1 hour or so.

Great submission to the @onepagerpgjam.bsky.social!

Found it! This model, I think, is called royalties against the first dollar. Thanks to @gamalhennessy.bsky.social when I asked him about a similar royalty payment structure. Please correct me if I'm wrong, Gamal!
Yeah it sucks! But I love this model you proposed. I'm gonna try using it in my next comic book project. Thank you for sharing!
I think finding more ways to pay royalties that are sustainable for both publishers and creators is definitely the way to go. Is there a name for the royalty model you are proposing?
True. creators need to watch over for the costs that cut into royalties.
Got it makes sense from a publishers pov but I did the complete opposite and paid everyone good rates but made no profit, lost a big investment. But it was a risk I willingly took. Creators were happy, and we made a good book. So I'm happy with that. I like your royalty idea makes so much sense
This exactly! So it's for the small advance type of publishers. Then your royalty model is something I would use!
Oh sorry I talking about whether the small publisher(creator owned) pays for the creators work up front usually page rate. Because I know some small publishers don't even do that or just pay a tiny advance. Compare that to a publisher who pays a page rate up front.
Is this applying to the publishers who don't pay for artwork?
