I live in liberal Portland, OR, and my sister lives in conservative Houston, TX. Watching news and ads on ICE in both places is a study in contrast. We are fed whatever the media wants us to believe, probably much more than we even realize.

Bluesky is chock full of people who believe in trans ideology, which is no different than any other absurd cult in that they believe unprovable nonsense and then ardently defend their beliefs by calling every non-believer a Nazi, a right winger, etc. Of course, name calling proves nothing.

We experienced a similar loss of quality when the NYT sold out to the likes of another billionaire. Newspapers we used to revere have been sinking like the Titanic. Universities have suffered a quality loss too - this does not bode well for Americans.
