i think the inability to tell the difference between "i don't like it" and "i don't like it so i have to figure out a way to imply this thing i don't like is morally evil" is the most fundie thing i see people who are aren't technically fundie regularly do these days

Thinking about a frankly bizarre guest lecture I attended this year where he went on a tangent about his anti-pharmacy stance
Studied music performance in college for years, got burnt out after too many bad gigs and auditions, and happened upon my school's art program and realized that it aligned more with my interests than trying to copy Coltrane solos on guitar for jazz oldheads to nitpick.

Idk if I could ever deny crumb's impact on me as an artist, especially when I discovered it at a formative age creatively, but I think even back then his work made me realize that boomers just have something inherently evil within them
