I watched the 1st, free episode of Pluribus. I winced early on, thinking it was exactly the same as a story I'm working on, but - phew - it's OK, they went in another direction. I liked the twist at the end, but I very much worry whether there is enough substance here to sustain an entire season.

#BuffytheVampireSlayer S2.2 "Some Assembly Required": It's Buffy adapts Frankenstein this ep, so of course it ends in fire. No villagers & pitchforks, though. Cordelia gets lots to do, & Giles & Jenny are now dating. It's fine, although the "female in peril" trope is feeling overused.

For Doctor Who day I watched Seeds of Doom. It's so good. The seige at the stately home is perfect. So dramatic. "Scorby, get Dunbarr!" Amelia Ducat is wonderful.

#Babylon5 S2.10 "Gropos": B5 hosts 25,000 infantry troops, with the resulting requisite bar brawls. Their general is Stephen's dad. A poignant ending is marred by a budget too small to show a huge battle & a rating too family friendly to show the horror of war. There's still pathos, though.

I took my daughter to Wicked 2 yesterday, although I hadn't seen the 1st one. It was fine. I enjoyed it. The message of how easy it is to be seduced by power & to fall in line with unlawful actions by a government is a resonant one, I think. It also showed how people can step back from that.

Turns out there are very few magazines that accept poetry, especially with an environmental theme. I still like writing poems, though. #Writing

#Babylon5 S2.9 "The Coming of Shadows": I'd say this is where B5 becomes required viewing. The Centauri cross a line that can never be uncrossed. Outstanding episode from start to finish. SO many great bits, & Rangers! And Jeff! And G'Kar hoping the emperor stays alive long enough to be killed!

I think of this ep being just the fight with the Gorn capt,. but there's a lot more than that. The Metrons too..
