A federal judge ruled on Friday that there was a “realistic likelihood” that the indictment filed against Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, the immigrant who was wrongfully deported to El Salvador in March and then brought back to face criminal charges, amounted to a vindictive prosecution by the DOJ.

Here's a juvenile great horned owl from a couple of years ago.

An osprey had just swooped over the branching owls, and this owl got very excited and started spreading its wings.

Porch tulips are ready for a long winter nap.

Also planted hyacinth (for @winniethewoot.bsky.social), anemones and lamium in DMH's woodland garden, and erythroniums in the Seuss garden for me.

Old oaks at Lochwood near Moffat. Oaks can live 1000+ years and are a 'keystone species' supporting ~2,300 UK species including the dainty purple hairstreak butterfly (which relies entirely on oak to survive.) We didn't spot one. But we did see a cheeky frog bouncing around in the leaf litter! 1/2
