Been doing a lot of freelance work the past few weeks, which is good, but I'd really like a steady paid gig, even if it's just contract work. Reliable work with an end date is better than freelance work that has zero predictability. So, if anyone needs a guy to edit/QC their captions...

Every day I look through job listings, I'm confronted with the notion that it is impossible to have an anti-AI stance while unemployed. So many jobs within my area of expertise are all about how to train AI to be better, or feeding your work into AI, and I just need a steady paycheck.

This was a rough year, the likes of which I haven't had in 8 years. It's not easy getting laid off, even worse when your job offerings dry up because of the AI wave spreading like wildfire from company to company. I hope I can find some steady work in 2026 with a company that values its workers...
