It’s a silly thing to get emotional about but I really love that most wooden rail kits for toddlers are still cross-compatible. It feels like someone would have tried to start a Brand War at some point but if they did it didn’t stick. Their pieces still fit together and kids can have more fun.

I hadn’t seen a single Dorktown or Pretty Good or anything else he’d worked on until like four months ago, after rediscovering my long-dormant love of baseball. Now the baseball histories aren’t even in my Top 5 anymore. His films about subjects I had no prior interest in are now the most precious.
