After Boris Spassky became World Chess Champion, Mrs Spassky was heard to remark “Hrmph. He becomes world champion and thinks he knows the best place to keep the towels.”
I only now found the time to actually listen to @bartongellman.bsky.social's portray of Pieter Thiel and wonder whether the problem society has in dealing with "the tech bros" as we now call them is that we have portrayed "genius" very wrongly. /1

The most underrated literary form is the German-language Novelle, and the best of them is Gottfried Keller's "Kleider machen Leute".

Agent Orange himself explains that the USA was humiliated in Vietnam because My Lai was woke or something.
Trump: "The problem with Vietnam, we, you know, we stopped fighting to win. We would've won easy. We would've won Afghanistan easy. We would've won every war easy. But we got politically correct. 'Oh, let's take it easy.' We're not politically correct anymore, just so you understand."

Trump: "We got sued by the Associated Press, and they lost. In fact, the judge was so good he said, 'He's calling it the Gulf of America. He's got all the approvals' ... they got thrown out of court. In fact, they're almost not allowed to cover me anymore because of that. It was a big hit."

President Trump said the U.S. government had “knocked off” what he said was a total of three alleged drug smuggling boats, all apparently from Venezuela.
“We knocked off actually three boats, not two, but you saw two,” Trump told reporters.

It absolutely makes sense that men are using AI more and seeing more job benefits, because confidently spouting nonsense in the shape of information (what LLMs are programmed to do) has always been much more of a pathway for career advancement for men than for others.
Every. Single. Story. about women not using AI as much as men portray it as bad for their future career prospects (without a shred of evidence) and a result of women being fearful little ladies rather than looking at AI's output and saying "this sucks, it's not going to help me."
For women, the increase of AI use in the workplace may affect their careers: Harvard study
Women are using AI significantly less then men and it’s going to have a major impact on their careers, according to extensive research on the topic.
