rice is really great when you're hungry and want to eat thousands of something

good luck! those pickup artist guys expect this and they are usually pretty awful about it all.

the only advice i could give about this is don't take anything he says to you personally; it's all part of the script.

in somewhat lighter news, a new outfit arrived from Devil Walking and it looks fantastic on me! i was worried that it wouldn't fit, like so many clothes from the internet, but it does and i'm super happy about it :)

i'm well known for having the most based of takes :)

i think drag is good and fun and enjoyable, but why the fuck does every queer gathering have to feature drag performers and performance? i went to a trans pride event and the featured speakers were all drag performers. it's strange, like coudn't they find a single trans person who wanted to speak?

You can't be a leftist hero politician fighting fascism, if you're selling out our trans brothers and sisters. You're just an opportunistic politician and you can eat a dick alongside the fascists.

You just want to be seen, and we see you just fine.

remember how Musk said empathy was bad?
Quote from Captain G.M. Gilbert, the army pyschologist assigned to watch the defendents at the Nurembert Trials, which reads: I sometimes fear that people think that fascism arrives in fancy dress worn by grotesques and monsters as played out in endless re-runs of the Nazis.

Fascism arrives as your friend.

It will restore your honor, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up your neighborhood, remind you how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you.

It doesn't walk in saying "Our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."

In my work with the defendants at the Nuremberg Trials I was searching for the nature of evil, and I now think I have come close to defining it.

A lack of empathy. It's the one characteristic that connects all the defedants, a genuine incapacity to feel with their fellow men. Evil, I think is the absence of empathy.

Great Gig In The Sky is just absolutely brilliant and will always be one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs ❣️

i love that album! i love it so much that i'm usually a fan of any band that covers it well also :)

Dream Theater has a brilliant cover of the entire album, and it's one of the best homages that i've seen to it.

it is/was at that.

life for me in Libya was extraordinarily challenging in all the ways that word could mean anything.

i'm a huge Pink Floyd fan. for years i'd suggest that if people wanted to get a sense of how i was as a young person, listening to The Wall would be a good start.

it's not surprising to me that yesterday was a really challenging day.

today will be better :)

We can find a town
Be just how we want to be
No one here really cares about us anyway

We can find a place
Make it what we want to be
No one really gives a fuck about us anyway

We can be
Everything we want to be
We can get lost in the fall, glimmer, sparkle and fade

I think that the combination of wanting to be known and having been known is a riptide of emotion which often pulls me under, and today is a day that feels like drowning.

no, i can't say that it has. i largely consider my experience on social media to be neutral to mildly awful; both in how i feel about it and how i use it.

but, there was this one really funny meme...

Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?

i thought a good middle ground would be a baritone guitar, which i've heard a few times and seems like it'd give me the tone i'd like when i'm playing solo.

other than the SG, the other Gibson's i tried were way to heavy for me... a Les Paul feels like it weighs 16lbs or so. this Epiphone is pushing my limit at close to 10lbs, and so i usually play that one while i'm sitting down and can take the weight on my thighs.

i'd like to try a bass as well :)

i really do like PRS guitars, but i've never played one so i'm not sure how it'd feel or - more importantly - how heavy it is.

turns out the SG is just about 6.3lbs, and that seems to be the biggest factor in my long term playing comfort, which is why the Fly interested me at first
