I always tell people that navigating public benefits -- whether it's #SNAP #unemployment #medicare #medicaid -- is like having to go to the DMV for everything you need. This problem could be fixed so easily, but it won't happen and I'll never understand why! 😓 #endrant

Although I got my stuff sorted, it's another cautionary tale of what happens when you remove the people doing the work on-the-ground from creating better systems. Anyone who's worked in direct service knows what I'm talking about. I'm frustrated as a user and as a former service provider 👉

I told her that not only does the portal not work, but the letter's instructions are wrong. She said that their staff knows, but they don't have the ability to change the portal or update the letter cause it's monitored by the state, not the local office. 👉

So, I had no choice but to navigate a hearty automated phone menu that kept directing me to do everything online. By the time I finally reached a person, she said that the portal doesn't work and everything can just be emailed. 👉

Navigating public benefits never ceases to amaze me. Got a letter from Ohio's Dept of Job and Family Services telling me to login to a portal and select an option that wasn't there. Although the chatbot got me to the right page eventually, the portal wouldn't let me upload the documents. 👉

My biggest complaint with #StDenis is that my suspension of disbelief kinda hates the mockumentary trope in a hospital (HIPAA violation much?!). I think it's distracting and wish they would have kept it similar to #Superstore cause it doesn't add to the plot.
